Legal Question in Employment Law in California

unfair hiring and termination

I resigned from a prior company to accept a position with a new company. I was then laid off 5 months later and notified the position was elminated. In addition, I was promised a guaranteed bonus if I accepted a salary less than than my prior position. Is there any lost wages, benefits or bonus which I am entitled to. (the bonus did not have any performance stipulation as it was an agreement to accept a reduction in salary from my prior position, it was only indicated in an offer letter that the bonus would be paid in the 2003 year.

Re: unfair hiring and termination

from the facts given so far, you definitely appear to have contractual rights in recovering the offered bonus in the letter by your employer. your leaving your former company and going to this new company would show an acceptance of the written letter offer by your conduct, and there appears to be no further stipulations or limitations regarding your collecting it thereafter in 2003. if you can email my Law Firm directly with more information on your case, the amount of the bonus in questions, and the offer letter's contents, we can provide you further legal assistance and/or representation in this matter to ensure swift justice is served.
