Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Union calls for Strike, I'm on probation

Hi. My union has called for a strike, but I'm on probation. My understanding is that I am not represented by the union until I've completed probation. The union has been sending out notices pressuring everyone to join the strike, including those on probation. They claim that we will be represented too. I believe if I join the strike, upper management can fire me. If I don't join the strike then my supervisor can refuse to sign off on my probation. Oh, and I work for the City of Los Angeles. Any advice on what are my rights? Thanks.

welcome to the wonderful world of unions. Do what you union tells you, or you don't work.
