Was I unlawfully terminated
8/1,I work & my G.Mgr. says we are putting me on a 2wk vacation. Suspend w/o pay, raise given 2 wks earlier. 7/28 we host annual event utilizing a # of volunteers & extra staff for short-term hire, Mr.& Mrs. team. Mrs. volunteer dislikes me & I think it's because she can't manipulate me. I told myself it's 2 wks-deal with it. Nothing notable occurred. 7/31 disruptance regarding the way I handle phone calls occurred. My co-worker said the jist of it & then we saw her w/the GM. B4 I left I asked GM was I going to get a lecture. ''Don't worry & good night. 8/5 Went for my pay he seemed fine & I asked for a reason; the other vague & he said better for all concerned I wasn't there. The emotional & financial toll devastated me-plenty of o/t to during the event I was counting on. GM-my mgr. writing reasons & he'd call me to discuss. No call & no chance to hear my opinion, thoughts, or work me in another dept. 8/7 at 11:45am GM called, ''they'' discussed & I laid off-my position no longer exists & now overstaffed. I was there 4 1-1/2yrs, never late, 1 sick, always did what was asked. I went over and above the job, doing things & implemented ideas on my time at home. That's why I ask was I unlawfully dismissed?-

You can claim unfair firing, but probably not 'illegal'. Therefore, your options are limited, probably to having counsel negotiate some modest severance package.
