Legal Question in Employment Law in California

unpayed training at work

I am an employee at a large national retail company. I sell Heating and a/c. I live 90+ miles from my office. Two days this week I was required to come in for computer training , all day, without pay, nor did they issue me any appts. on those days either. They did pay for 2 nights lodging, but they will not reimburse my gas. I get paid straight commission when I sell. No salary. Is that legal, and can they do that?

Re: unpayed training at work

I think you can file a claim with the Labor Commissioner for the unpaid time. See what they say.
