Legal Question in Employment Law in California

Wage Reduction

We are in the process of re-organizing our program. We will be changing some jobs and adding a few others in order to comply with the new org. chart. Some of our long time employees are making more than we are going to pay some of the new jobs. We have sent out job announcements with the new lower rates. They are not being forced to apply for the new jobs, if they stay with their current position the wages will not be reduced. Are we allowed to reduce their wages to the new wages for the jobs they have applied for and accept?

Re: Wage Reduction

You can reduce the wages of any worker anytime you want as long as you pay minimum wage and you cant make it retroactive.
