Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I have been working with the same company as a temp for almost 4 yrs in order to deny me benefits In the state of California how long can a company keep you on before making you permanent, and aren't you considered common law employee after 2 yrs ???

Temp is temp, forever if that is what they want. It is quite common, and not 'illegal'.
