You can diplomatically inquire within the chain of command why you have not received a raise when others around you have. If not satisfied with the response you receive, you can file a formal complaint within the company by using their policies and procedures designed to allow employees to complain about discrimination. If this is not available to you in the employee handbook, ask about it through human resources. You can also file a complaint with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Information about this is required to be posted by employers in a public place, such as a break room. Finally, if you feel you need help, you can consult with an employment law attorney in your area.

IF you can show that you are being 'discriminated' against in your employment 'because of' your ethnicity, then you would have a legal claim. What facts and evidence do you have that would support that kind of allegation? Have there been any inappropriate comments or attitudes expressed about your ethnicity? These are the ways you would prove a case of illegal discrimination under the Civil Rights laws. If you think you can show discrimination, contact me for the legal help you'll need. I've been doing these cases for over 20 years.
