Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was working for an IVF center. 1 year ago I blew the whistle on our embryologist for placing blank embryos to surrogates for 4 years. After that I felt I was a target. I was being harassed by management (I do have other workers there that think the same thing) until they fired me in June 2012. They fired me for failure and falsifying data for the tanks. The entire office had reported false info, hid files and made up data for anything and everything to pass inspections. This became normal there and yes I was part of it. So when they finally fired me they used that reason, which everyone in the practice has done for years. They never wrote me up or warned me for the data on the tanks. Now I am out of work and they have reported to the EDD their explanation which looks like I could not qualify for unemployment.

If you can show your claim falls within 'whistleblower' guidelines, you would have a legal claim. However, being fired for falsifying info would be an almost absolute defense to your claim. Sorry.
