Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Working overtime
I work 45 hours per week but my employer posted a memo that all employes work an extra four hours on a weekend. If we did not work the hours we would be written up. Can my employer do this?

Re: Working overtime
There is nothing unlawful about an employer requiring employees to work overtime. Of course, if you are a non-exempt employee (as defined by law, not necessarily the employer), you must be paid at the overtime premium for all hours worked in excess of 8 a day or 40 a week.

As long as they properly pay OT.
