Legal Question in Employment Law in California

I was working at this place for a year and a half then i left for a year and came back as a rehire. Appling for ths job the first time i lied on my application but when i got rehire i never fill oit another application however they found out about me lying the first time and discharged me. However if i left the company and came back with out filling out an application therefore i did not lie when i was rehired legally can they dischare me. Also i lied in a 2005 application went back to the company in 2007 and they are now firing me in 2009 is it legal?

You're an 'at will' employee that can be fired any time for any reason. Dishonesty on an application is also grounds for 'misconduct' firing that would deny you unemployment benefits.
