Only if they take the form of unlawful discrimination or harassment based on such things as sex, race, etc.

Yes, an employee has a right to be free of violence (physical and verbal) and harassment at workplace. Whether the conduct is illegal depends on the severity and pervasiveness of the harassment.

If you would like to discuss this further, feel free to follow up.

Not unless it falls into the illegal 'discrimination/harassment' type categories like race, age, sex, religion, etc. If you're a woman and there is vulgar profanity, that is a gray area that can be argued as 'sexual harassment'. If you are physically attacked and injured, then it is grounds for criminal and civil action. If you think it is illegal, feel free to contact me to discuss.

Nobody said life was fair, or that you were protected from unpleasant people, or that management was intelligent.
