Legal Question in Employment Law in California
WRONGFUL TERMINATION, I was fired, because I would not falsify my Logbook.
FALSIFYING A LOGBOOK IS A FELONY..
As a Truck Driver, Management wanted me to falsify my logbook to deliver a load on time said the manager.
Explanation: I was dispatched to pick up a load, I arrived on time and the load was not ready, they asked me to check back every 2 hours, so I did and logged it as ''ON DUTY'', which is what I am supposed to do, the load was ready at 6pm...and by 7pm...I was on the road, I needed 8 hours to get there and only had 3,hrs left on my logbook.
I called dispatch and explained I didnt have time to get there at 7am for the appointment time, dispatch said deliver it anyways and get there when I can...
I said I will be late, dispatch saids its ok....so I arrived at 11:30am the next day...4.5 hrs late...and when Managment heard, I was first suspended for being late, pending an investigation, then I was fired for being late, dispatcher didnt tell the truth, they said I should have falsified the logbook, so I could get there on time, for LOWES, an important client of the company.
Thankyou, this company is located in sacremento ca.

IF, IF, you can prove what you say about the demand to falsify, you have a valid lawsuit to pursue. Other than your word, what evidence, documents, witnesses, etc. do you have to prove it. If you think you can, feel free to contact me.
