How long do I have to file a claim for wrongful termination?

You have one year to file suit for wrongful termination in violation of public policy. You have one year to file a claim with the DFEH.

For discrimination based claims, torts, public policy violations, no more than one year. Other claims may have longer periods, but the earliest limitation date determines filing deadline. Contact with a brief summary if interested in discussing the facts.

It depends on the theory of the case, whether you belong to a Union or whether you work for a government entity. It could be anywhere from 6 months to 4 years. In any case, don't wait!
