Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Wrongful Termination
I was terminated from my job as a supervisor for claims made against me for sexual harrassment. I was placed on paid leave pending an investigation while the very same day my position was filled. I was told that 2 claims were made and that they couldn't tell me the names for protection against retaliation. If I did these things wouldn't I know who was making the claim? I received my final checks and a letter from my direct supervisor (the CEO) stating that I was terminated for sexual harrassment and that know a 3rd person made a claim as well. What do I do?

Re: Wrongful Termination
Look for another job. You might also hire an attorney to try to get the company to seal your file and agree to a 'neutral' statement about your termination, rather than having them tell anyone that calls about the reason for your firing, which they can do as long as they limit their statements to the actual facts. Achieving that will greatly help your job prospects. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me.
