Legal Question in Employment Law in California
wrongfull termination/ slander by employer
I had recently voiced my concerns about false accusations made by my supervisor and derragatory comments made by the executive director(E.D.) to HR. My supervisor was told she was not to have private meetings where she made such accusations without bringing it to HR's attention first. The executive director left for vacation they he was told of his inappropriate behavior. I kept voicing my concerns and fear about losing my jopb for coming forward to HR, she assured to the best of her ability that we would resolve this matter in a civil way. Shortly after she left on vacation, and my concerns bacme burdens. I was extremely anxious and depressed, finally the inevitable happen the executive director came back from vacation and 12 minutes before my shift my supervisor and the E.D. ask to speak to me I stated I was uncomfortable with this and would like HR or someone else present my request was denied; I was let go when I asked for what reason all the E.D. can say was it's an at will but we have included a nice severance which includes vacation pay. My supervisor stated my termination was because of lack of communication, ''alcohol''(?), and attire? previous accusations I had addressed to HR. What Now?

Re: wrongfull termination/ slander by employer
What now? Take the money and seek new employment. You have not stated anything that appears to be 'illegal' that would give rise to a meritorious case with any value. Your complaint appears to be about office politics, poor management skills, etc. Sorry, but nobody said that life or employment was 'fair'.
