Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I was dating my property manager and he said that we couldn't date anymore because we could never be together or make it official even after I moved out of the apartments. I was just curious if that is true or what the law says about this in California

My sense is that someone advised his superiors about your relationship and he was told to end things with you. His statements to you are inaccurate.
