Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Eviction for dogs barking

I have a friend who was given an eviction notice stating that her dogs are on the patio all night barking and scratching. This is totally false because the dogs don't go out on the patio at night. Do they need some kind of proof or can they just make something up in order to serve an eviction? What rights does she have to fight this?

Re: Eviction for dogs barking

I suggest that your friend meet with the landlord/manager and explain this. Perhaps the complaining neighbor could also meet to see what the real beef is.
