Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

I have an old lady friend who is disabled. She was informed by the owner of the apartment she is in that she has to pack her kit and bath to allow them to remodel. She isnt able to pack anything, and she doesnt really care about the remodel. Can she refuse? Or can she demand they at least pack and unpack her things?

Thank you

It would require a little more information, but generally a tenant does have an obligation to comply with a landlord's reasonable request for access to a part of the unit, and that could require removal of property. She should explain her situation, and ask that they compensate her so she can hire someone to move the property out and back in for her.
