Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Roommate left without notice

I am living with two girls and one of

them told us she was leaving for L.A.

and her last day would be June 1st.

Today she took all of her things and

left and said that she may or may

not pay this months rent, even

though it is before her said last day.

Our landlord requires a roommate

release for which nobody signed. Is

there anything we can do to make

sure that she pays for this months

rent?
