Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in California

Tenant Access to Garage

I am planning to rent my downstairs unit (Studio) out in San Francisco. It has its own private entrance but it also has a door that leads to the garage. I do not want the tenant to have access to or use of the garage. Is it okay to put a lock on that door that can only be opened with a key and not give to the tenant and/or opened from the garage only?

Re: Tenant Access to Garage

Make sure that you have a provision in the lease to that effect, and that you and the tenant both sign the lease
