Legal Question in Legal Ethics in California
Accountant Exposing Financials
I just found out our account has been telling other employees about our financial situation and showing our financial statements to them. We are cutting back on expenses and may need to layoff. I'm disappointed in our accountant. Do i have the legal right to fire him?

Is your accountant an at-will employee or is he/she a contract employee. The answer to your question and the implications are dependent on this distinction.
