Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in California

Urgent Advice Re Locating/Retaining Counsel on Pending Legal Mal

I have a PENDING Pl Legal Mal action in pro se, and not with any intention.

I was granted an extension to serve and a continuance for the CMC. An OSC and the continued CMC are concurrently on calendar in about 2-wks. A POS or Dismissal is required to be filed within 5-days prior.

Do to the complexity, and more over the convuluted mess of the underlying cases, yes plural, I have failed to present the matter properly to prospective counsel without scaring them away.

The merits have not been questioned but the defendants collectibility has, yet no one has proven otherwise.

This matter is not only of the damage the attorney did to the underlying cases, but of what he did personally to me. If I have to dismiss this matter for the wrong reasons, I will have a very hard time emotionally dealing with it.

I am simply exhauted at this point with phone call after phone call, and email after email to locate counsel. I need some fresh ideas on locating and a fresh approah to present the matter before it's just too late. (Further continuance in pro per would be denied.)

Re: Urgent Advice Re Locating/Retaining Counsel on Pending Legal Mal

If you have a case that has actual value, attorneys would be interested. Value means a case that can be won, and defendant's assets available for judgment collection. Either item missing means a case of no value. Your opinion of either may be quite different from an experienced attorney and from reality, as most pro pers react from emotional involvement, not practical analysis.
