Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California
Earlier this year I paid for health insurance for one year. The person from the insurance company seemed to have inputed my information incorrectly for coverage for only 6 months instead of 1 year. I found out when I recieved a collections letter from one of the physicians I visited due to nonpayment. Apparently my insurance was no longer valid at that time. Not only has this tarnished my credit, but I have serious health issues and the insurance company has not been able to reinstate my insurance. I am tired of waiting for return calls and suffering from all the pain im in. Is there anything I can do?

If you actually paid for a year, and have any evidence of that, then it should be simple to get the insurance reinstated and coverage for the claims during that year. If you only paid for 6 months, but thought it was for a year's coverage, and your contention is that they didn't tell you more money was due, then you'll have to overcome the implication and consequences of 'cancellation' notices that advised you of the need to pay.
