Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California

Mal Practice Case

I am preparing to see if i have a case against a corrections facility in connection with what i feel is a mal practice case in connection of the death of my daughter who at the time of her death was in custody. She entered with medical problems and was placed in their medical unit.. not the main population. Upon her being transported by bus to her first court date she has a seizure on the bus. She was then transferred back to the corrections facility and never was checked out by any outside medical facility. Not too long after that incident ( 4 weeks later she has a 2nd seizure and collapsesin her cell. Next day she was dead. From the time of her first seizure her health went downhill and the corrections facility was made aware of this. My daughter had NO previous seizures but again she did enter the facility and they were aware she was under her private doctors care for a irregular heart beat. This is why she was never put in the main population. My major complaint is she should have been taken to a outside medical hospital after the first seizure. Correction facilitys are not equipped to run brain scans,ct scans. The turn out of this case is after a autopsy was performed we were told my daughter has leisons on her brain.

Re: Mal Practice Case

With the facts you state, you surely have potential malpractice and civil rights claims to bring. Keep in mind there are short time limits when making claims against the government. Feel free to contact me if you want to pursue this.

Re: Mal Practice Case

How horrible, what happened to your daughter. This is not merely a 'medical malpractice' case but also a civil rights case involving 'deliberate indifference' to her rights. Special rules and very short time limits apply. If you are located in Los Angeles or Orange counties, I would very much like to speak with you and discuss your case and my experience in handling similar cases in the Federal courts. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.
