Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in California
nedical
my grandfather passed awat this last april. My question is he was admitted to the hospital to recieve antibiotics for diverticulitis i talked to his doctor a week before he died and he told me that he was doing well and that they were going to release him soon to a skilled nursing facility for the rest of the meds and some physical therapy to get his muscle strength back up to par some time in the next two days they turned off his hydration drip knowing he wouldnt drink on his own because he had contracted thrush while his stay also being taken care of but beacause of this he started to show signs of cngestive heart failure and kidney failure both of which he did not have the week before he then coded friday march 29th a shock to us considering he wasn't doing bad at all. when the nurse called to inform us he said the CNA went to get vitals and that was how they found out he was coding which we thought was awkward he should have been on a monitor that would have alamred them . Then when he got to the ICU he was intubated and they found out he was six liters low on fluid which shocked even the ICU dostor he then coded again two days later and couldn't be revived.dehydration cut his life short can we sue?

Re: nedical
The statute of limitations is one year, if you mean he died in 4-06, the answer is no.
If it was last month, then you should promptly consult with counsel. Feel free to contact me. In order to file a malpractice suit, you must first have a doctor willing to testify that the care was below standardand caused the death. Begin by getting copies of all medical records and charts on him, so the doctor will be able to review them.
