Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
Adults hosted a party with alcohol for teenagers and my son got seriously hurt
Do I have any legal rights if adults hosted a party, providing alcohol and my son got seriously hurt on their property? He got hurt on their fence. Isn't it against the law to host a party and make alcohol available to teenagers? AFter my son got injured, the homeowners refused to help my son. Other people had to step in and help. My son spent four days in the hospital (2 days in Intensive Care) and could've lost his arm or bled to death. Aren't those adults liable?

Of course they are liable. If homeowner's then their insurance police will pay the bills and for all other damages. Call me directly at 1.619.846.8947.

They might have liability. It will depend upon a lot more information such as who provided the alcohol, what role the alcohol played in his being injured, how did the injury occur, etc.
You should contact an attorney to discuss your options.

Re: Adults hosted a party with alcohol for teenagers and my son got seriously hurt
The adults might be liable, but whether they are depends upon many additional factors.
The first one that comes to mind is whether there was a causal connection between their serving of alcohol and your son's injury. If your son would have been injured anyway, the fact that these adults served alcohol wouldn't make them liable.
Another key factor is how your son was injured. If he was assaulted by another person -- especially a person who did not have any of the alcohol these adults provided -- then they are unlikely to be responsible for his injuries.
I could go on, but my main point is simply that the answer to your question depends upon many more details than you can fit into a LawGuru question. You should set up an appointment with a lawyer or two in your area to discuss your case in depth. That way you can get some guidance based upon all of the relevant information.
Good luck.

You certainly do have rights, however the strength of any possible case will depend on the facts here. I would be interested in whether the parents knew of the party and intended to serve alcohol to teens (or whether they walked in on something ongoing), whether your son had been drinking and whether he had been drinking the alcohol furnished by these people (or did he bring his own) and whether the alcohol was a factor in the injury here.
I have done a great number of these cases and would be pleased to discuss this with you if you choose at no expense or obligation to you. Scott Righthand
