Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
which attorney services do i need
I just filed an unlimited complaint (pro per)for personal property lost due to fire and second count is premises liability. I do not think I have the knowledge or experience to handle this complaint. So do I need to find a personal injury attorney or landlord/tenant . I owned my own mobile home the fire was caused by electrical equipment failure, after the fire pictures were taken and there was a fault circuit breaker outside the home on a pedestal that was the property management company to keep in proper working order. Three years of complaining in writing from me to them is my evidences. thank you for your time. I am looking forward to hearing from someone soon.

Thank you for your posting. I believe you definitely need an attorney experienced in civil claims and civil litigation, but you don't need either a personal injury attorney (since there wasn't a personal injury), or a landlord/tenant attorney, unless there's an eviction issue along with this.

First of all you need to contact your own fire insurance carrier. If you didn't purchase fire insurance for your mobile home, you used extremely poor judgment. You can still sue the park; if your damages are over the small claims limit, or you were injured, you probably need a lawyer. If, and only if, you were injured, I might be interested in the case.

I assume you filed your complaint in advance of the Statute of Limitations ending your case.
I also assume the "them" is an insurance company.
Let me know if you wish for me to help you.

Even if you felt you had the experience I would remind you of what Abraham Lincoln famously said, "A man who represents himself has a fool for a lawyer." You need a consumer rights attorney, anyone that does civil litigation. I don't know what the value of the property is that you lost, but it better be large if you expect to find an attorney to handle this on contingency. Didn't you have fire insurance?
