Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

False Radio News Report

I m inquiring for my brother. While away from home, his local radio station broadcast a news report that he had been arrested for the murder of his girlfriends father. No part of this statement is or was true.

The station claims they got the information ''off the wire''. I have searched all the newswires online and found nothing for any of the names or subjects in the broadcast.

What can I (or my brother) do to find out where the station got (or made up) this information?

Re: False Radio News Report

Your brother seems to have a case against the radio station for defamation. If he decides to sue the station, then he'll be entitled to get the information regarding the source of the false report. I'll be interested in his case and I may be reached at (323)782-0099.

Re: False Radio News Report

Unless the station can prove they got the information somewhere reliable and used it in good faith, there is a suit for defamation. Contact me if interested in pursuing.
