Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I fell on some spilled melted butter at the Rio in Las Vegas seafood buffet. Can I sue?

Whether you can successfully sue depends upon the facts and whether they show negligence on the part of the Hotel. If another customer dropped the butter before the hotel had a reasonable opportunity to know of it and to clean it up brfore you fell, then ilt ils not liable. So you need to establish it had knowledge or should have had knowledge of a potentially dangerous condition that it could have eliminted and that it had adequate time to do so. You also have to show, to avoid comparative negligence on your part, that you did not have knowledge of the dangerous condiltion. For an attorney to be willing to take the case, you need to have medical bills and/or wage loss to make the case worth enough that he/she feels they could make a reasonable fee on the case.
