Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
I just found out that someone back in 1999 sued me and my security company in civil court. The doucuments said that a "jane doe" was give the summons. because I did not appear in court the plantiff won by default. Now this person is trying to collect money. I had liability insurance at the time. Can I fight this? Is my old insurance able to help me because it occurred when I had insurance? If I had knew this person was trying to sue me, I would have fowarded this matter to my insurance company back then. I don't own the company anymore.
What do I do? I can't even afford a Lawyer right now.

There are strict time limits to vacate a default judgment. Two years is the maximum time. You are out of luck.
