Personal injury settlements/verdicts are directly dependent upon what "tangible" damages that you can show. If you have minor injuries such that no medical treatment is necessary, than "pain and suffering" would be a low number, close to negligible.

Believe it or not, damages for pain and suffering are directly related to how much pain and suffering the plaintiffs had to endure. (Note that pain is not the only type of suffering that matters, and that you are entitled to compensation for foreseeable future pain and suffering as well.) You haven't told us how much you and your daughter have endured or will endure, but my guess is that it isn't very much. If that's true, then you shouldn't expect much compensation for it.
