Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I live in Los Angeles California and am looking to lease a new car. My credit is not good enough to get the best deal but if my mother who lives in Florida cosigns the lease with me I can. In doing so I believe her name is on the title and registration. I have heard that in the state of california she could possibly be sued if I were to cause an accident while driving the vehicle. For example Vicarious Liability and Negligent Entrustment Theory. My question is if I have the proper insurance is this a real possibility, I know how loose California is on lawsuits.

Possibly?

No.

Guaranteed.

All registered owners and the driver are responsible and liable for damages caused.

Insurance is bought to provide you coverage for such liability. Get at least 100/300 liability. Also get the max possible Uninsured driver coverage. Talk to your agent.
