Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

Loss of wages on permanet disability

I'm permanetly disabled & receive a check every month from the federal government. Would that stop me from collecting loss of wages in a personal injury lawsuit?

Loss of wages means what it is, "lost wages." Unless the federal government decided to stop paying you your disability for some reason because of your personal injury lawsuit, which is not likely, only then you would be able to collect for lost wages...if you win in court of course.

Although you might not be able to recover the full extent of the wage loss since you are not currently employed and can't say that the injury hurt your present ability to earn a living, if your disability is temporary, it's possible to show that your future wage loss is anticipated, and your recovery should be somewhat enhanced as a result of that.

IF you don't work, you don't have wages to lose.
