Legal Question in Personal Injury in California

I sold a travel trailer to an aquaintance for $5,000. He paid me $3,700. and asked if he could take the trailer and pay me the rest in a couple of weeks. The couple of weeks has passed. I still have the pink slip. The money isn't the issue although it would be nice to get the rest. My main concern is the liability issue. Can I be held liable should he be involved in an accident with this trailer? Should I notify the California DMV that I am no longer in possession of the trailer?

You are still the registered owner so you would be held liable as to an accident. Tell the other person that if he does not pay the rest of the sales price within the next 10 working days you will take it back as you are still the owner and he is in breach of the agreement to buy.
