Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
What is the statute of limitations to file a lawsuit in California for a personal injury case?

Generally, the statute of limitations is two years from the date of the injury.
However, if you are dealing with any sort of public entity, municipality, governmental subdivision, etc., an administrative claim must be filed within six months or 180 days.
There might be other circumstances that may apply to limit the time in which you have to file, e.g., medical malpractice, etc.
In short, you should NOT wait.
