Legal Question in Personal Injury in California
time frame limitations and legal responsibilities
I fell on spilled drink and butter on a granite floor in a movie theatre. It was witnessed by employees. I have pictures and was diagnosed with bilateral knee bursitis. I had no knee injuries prior. It will be 2yrs this December. Is the movie theatre liable and until when?

Re: time frame limitations and legal responsibilities
You have 2 years to settle, or bring suit if you intend to. They are only liable if you can prove they are. Slip and falls in public businesses are extremely hard to win. You have to prove there was an inherently dangerous condition they knew or should have known about and did nothing to remedy. Unless you have extensive medical treatment proved to be caused by the fall, the case has limited to no value anyway. You can make a demand and try to get a settlement.
Re: time frame limitations and legal responsibilities
If you are waiting until the last possible minute then you are playing a dangerous game with your rights. You have to decide whether to act or not. The theater may be liable or may not be, depending on the facts. If you want to protect your rights, I would hire an attorney immediately.
