Tenant is probably technically correct. See http://www.caltenantlaw.com/Privacy.htm
Normal business hours are generally considered 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Tenant can not deny weekend access. The landlord can give at least 24 hour written notice of intent to show, at normal day hours, say from 8am to 7pm as reasonable.

Whipple is right. Nelson is wrong, according to the Cal. Dept. of Real Estate.
