Hello, I need to homestead my boat. I'm in California and part of a married couple. It is my principle place of residence and I take the homeowner's exemption

What you want to do is to record a homestead decleration in the county where the boat is located. The law on how to do this can be found in Calif. Code of Civil Procedure sections 704.910 to 704.995.
