joint ownership

my uncle and i own a house in california that we inherited three years ago. it has been recently remodled and rented out using a properrty managment firm. i have not recieved any money since it was rented 3 months ago. is it legal for him to hire the property managment and collect all the rent without my signature being on the lease agreement since i am joint owner. does the property managment have to have both owners of the property to be able to legally rent out the house. and if it is illegal what can i do about it? make a contract with
