Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My neighbor has a palm tree that he planted right next to my wall. The root ball has damaged my wall, but neighbor is non responsive when asked to repair damage. What kind of legal help/action do I need to proceed and get wall repaired and tree removed?

This is an instance of “trespass by tree” and you can sue for damages. Whether that’s worthwhile would depend upon the amount involved and what kind of future relationship you want to have. Negotiation may be better than going to court.
