Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
property line boundaries
I have lived in this house for 28 years. Today, there were 3 people in my yard, preparing to build a wall on my property. They said they had a survey and found out that their property line extends many feet onto my property and they are now claiming it. My sprinkler system will be destroyed. They have taken down a fifty year old pine tree, and my lighting system and security lights will be destroyed. Not to mention how ugly that wall will be. After 28 years, someone can come and say they're taking back their property?

Have you called the police? If the police will do nothing, hire a lawyer and take them to court immediately! Take video of everything they are doing. Stop sitting on your hands!

People 'can' do anything you let them away with. You should have consulted with an attorney immediately to see if there was something you could do to stop them. Now you get to consult to see if you have grounds for a suit for damages.

I have dealt with this issue and litigated it. It depends on a couple of specific factors. You can give me a quick call.
