Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

We just received a Notice of Trustee's Sale dated today (1/28/10) which stastes the sale of our property will be held on February 17, 2010. It also states that "Foreclosure process has begun on this property, which may affect your right to continue to live in this property Twenty days or more after the date of this notice. How long do we legally have to stay in our home and is there anything we can do to stay longer? We do not have any money to move since my unemployment ran out. Thank you, Joanne Pritchard

The new buyer will have the right to evict any tenants, subject to you having a valid lease that might prevent that if it is not in default for payments. You should try to negotiate with the new buyer to have you stay and pay, or to give you some time to move if you take care of the property.
