Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
My son (23 year old) sent $1500. to a potential landlord for the rental of his house along with 3 other roommates. He sent the money via money gram and has his receipt. He never signed a lease or application. They never got to move into the house and the landlord said that they lied and he didn't feel comfortable renting to them. He is now not returning the deposits they sent in. Can my son go after him legally for return of his money? Also, this landlord lives out of state. Thank you
