In the state of California is treating/ tenting for termites required to sell a home.

It is if the lenders or buyer says it is.

There is no legal requirement, but if there are termites present, no lender will fund a purchase and no sensible buyer will buy, without it.

I agree with Mr. McCormick. There is no statewide requirement, but if the seller knows there are termites, the seller must disclose it. Termite inspections are often made a part of the home inspection process during escrow.
