Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

a Board of Directors member pinched me

I (a female) was serving as a waitress in a country club restaurant when a male drunk member of the club's Board of Directors, seated at my table, squeezed my bottom as I walked by. Does his act constitute sexual harassment, or some other civil wrongdoing?

It was inappropriate conduct, perhaps sexual harassment, and could be reported.

Yes, but if it is a one time thing, 'out of the blue', the remedy is a formal complaint to management demanding protections from recurrence and retaliation. However, if it is a common or repeated thing with this person or others, and the company has failed to remedy the problem after your complaints to them, then you could file a Complaint with the Dept of Fair Employment and Housing and follow it up with a lawsuit, if you can prove what you allege.
