Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

The EOHC has my case --do I still need an attorney

The EOCH took my case and is investigating it. They are sending me a claim that they are forwarding to my past employer.(I was fired when I reported sexual harassment)

Will I still need an attorney?

Thank you for your time,

They haven't "taken your case" unless they provide you an attorney and file a suit. They have taken your claim for filing as required. They "take" few cases, generally leaving you to hire an attorney if you want to pursue your case. Contact me if interested in discussing the facts.

Yes. If you want to pursue the case in court an attorney will determine whether you should file a claim with the State agency and pursue remedies under California law. The EEOC is a government agency, they are not your individual counsel. If you would like an analysis of your case, feel free to contact me directly.

You must understand that the EEOC and/or DFEH handles thousands and more, cases. Individual attorneys handle clients, one on one. An attorney will likely handle the matter with more attention to you as an individual. This is the work my office does.
