Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California
Is this harassment?
A co-worker of mine and I were walking through the store. A ''friend'' of ours was walking near us. I dropped something on the floor and asked her to pick it up. She did and my co-worker and I laughed about it. She smiled and walked away. Now she's saying that it is sexual harassment. To me I was joking with a friend that had previously joked with me about the way her body looks.

A complaint of sexual harassment can get you fired, and will forever affect your employability in this politically correct, litigation mad society. You should put your opposition and story in writing and cooperate with HR to minimize the damage and risks.

It depends what accompanied your laughter, or previous comments about your "friend" that she heard or were brought to her attention. I agree that if it was innocuous, you should explain why to the investigators.
