Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in California

Could this be pursued further succesfully?

I have recently left a job do to sexual harrasment. I felt very intimidated, embarrased and uncomfortable dur to the way a manager touched and looked at me. On one occasion he rubbed my shoulders when uninvited, and another he had neglected to keep eye contact with me when discussion my status of employment because he was too busy focusing on my chest. I feel I should do something to prevent this happening to another person in the future. Can I be hopeful to take further action?

If you have witnesses to corroborate your story, then you could succeed. At the least, you should hire counsel to pursue the matter. It may be possible to settle without suing. If the facts and evidence is there, you could win. Call if interested. 714-960-7584

Re: Could this be pursued further succesfully?

The conduct you described is unlawful. You can file a complaint with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing [DFEH]. This state agency has offices around the state. You may wish to consult with an attorney in your area about the possibility of filing a lawsuit. Even though you quit, you may be able to argue that the conditions were so bad that you were effectively driven out by the manager's conduct. Whether or not your case would be worth filing as a lawsuit requires more information about what happened and what damages you have suffered. But a DFEH complaint doesn't cost anything to file and you don't need an attorney. If you are in the Los Angeles/Orange County area, you can call me for a free consultation. 213 386 3860.
