If you are going into a mediation, you certainly should have representation. How else will you know your rights and be able to respond to contentions made by the employer's attorney?

Mediation is a fairly complex process and it takes an experienced attorney to know how to approach it for maximum value. If you do not have an attorney, you need to find one as soon as possible. There are many fine attorneys who have responded to questions on this website, so you may wish to check to see who has responded to previous exual harassment questions and who, among them, is in your area.

Case value is determined ultimately, and only, by the guy that writes the settlement check, or by a jury at the conclusion of trial. Any other figure you dream up is simply what you wish it would be.

If you are in mediation or lawsuit without counsel, you are not likely to have a successful outcome, nor recover appropriate value.
