Power of Attorney
Question: If a person (of sound mind) gives a written Power of Attorney to
another person does the first person just extend his or her authority or does
he or she relinquish authority.

Re: Power of Attorney
Giving a Power of Attorney should be done carefully. It should be for a specific purpose if it's short term. If it's to cover long term problems such as disability, the POA should only come into existence when the person giving the power is under a disability which is determined by a physician.
